Script Kiddies are at it again! After hacking the Twitter page of NBC News earlier this month, the hacking group has now done the same to the Twitter account of USA TODAY, the national American daily newspaper of the U.S. Script Kiddies, as we know as of now, is the off-shoot of hacker group Anonymous.
Once the Twitter account was in the control of Script Kiddies, they allegedly delivered tweets via that account. They even asked Twitter whether the social networking site has courage to suspend the group and invited Twitter users to vote for the next account, they wish Script Kiddies to hack.

The tweet read, “Fox News, Wal-mart, Unilevel, Pfizer, NBC and now USA Today. Who’s next? Vote now!” USA TODAY indeed acknowledged the hack. However, it has worked out a way with Twitter to regain full control of the account.
The tweet looked like this – “@usatoday was hacked and as a result false tweets were sent. We worked with Twitter to correct it. The account is now back in our control.”
USA TODAY also apologized to the inconvenience it caused to Twitter users who regularly visit their account.
“We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion caused to our readers and thank you for reading @usatoday.”
Computer security company Sophos also acknowledged that, though briefly, the Twitter account of USA TODAY was indeed hacked by a group claimed to be Script Kiddies.
On September 9, under a similar “adventure”, Script Kiddies hacked another high-profile Twitter account of NBC News. The hacker group, during the process, even took the group offline.
Most of the times, it is noted that to gain publicity or just for fun sake, the hackers target the websites of high profile people or entities. Whether Script Kiddies had similar intentions or not, only the hacker group can tell. Yet, it is a known fact that they have again succeeded in their hacking venture.
