An elite Jihadi website, Shumukh, which is supposedly password protected, has been hacked by some unknown person or group. The hacker has put a poster on the website stating that the accounts of the members have been hacked and will be used to send spyware to other forum members.

According to Flashpoint Partners, a user with the name Yaman Mukhadab posted on August 28, “It seems that someone is using my account and is somehow sending messages with my name to the members.” The Jihadi website Shumukh uses software developed by vBulletin that works to let users of the site to exchange private messages with each other.

This post from Mukhadab has gained a lot of attention. According to Mukhadab, he became aware of the fact that his account has been compromised when he saw so many private messages from other forum members. These members were actually replying to what they thought was Mukhadab’s message.

Mukhadab also wrote in his post, “The dangerous thing in the matter is that they say that I had sent them a message including a link for download, which they downloaded.” According to him, the file that is there in his fake message as an attachment actually contains harmful spyware. He further said that this spyware is very hard to be detected by various antivirus software.

As of now, Shumukh is not in a mood to take any chances. It is urging its members who got the message from Mukhadab to delete that message and format their computer systems.
