To deal with ever-evolving security threats, computer security firms are now coming up with real-time programs for their customers. Recently, Kaspersky has launched Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 in order to provide real-time safety to its users. According to the company, both the security packages are developed with modern features in order to fight against suspicious threats that are active on the Internet. Moreover, the Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 security product is redesigned with a new feature named as hybrid, which can help in dealing with threats over the cloud. Not only this, a program activity monitoring module has been integrated to keep an eye on all the malicious activities. While the security threats are going to emerge on regular basis, the company has promised to enhance the built-in features of its security products in every single release.

Kaspersky stated that old antivirus programs used to download periodic patches to keep their database of known threats updated. These patches were saved on a user’s hard drive. But with roughly 35,000 new malicious programs coming out each day, doing it the old way no longer cuts it. “There are no signatures for these new threats, meaning innovative methods are required to detect them,” the company added.
On the other hand, Symantec Corporation has also released Norton One, which can protect multiple devices from serious threats. Norton One is programmed to deal with common problems faced by a home user on the Internet. Based on a research, Symantec Corporation stated that a regular user has got 4.5 devices, which are connected on the Internet – desktops, laptops, mobile phones and tablet PCs. So, it is quite tough to get away from malicious threats. Additionally, Symantec Corporation concluded that “All these devices need protection against online threats. But [we need] to provide more than just basic security and must cover the distinct needs of all the household’s connected devices.”
In addition to this, other security firms such as Panda, Trend Micro, AVG, etc., have also come up with security products, keeping 2012 in perspective. So, before you enter the new year, whichever security software you have been using on your PC, it is the right time to upgrade the same.
