According to the press release on the Trend Micro official website, voters in excess of 1,500 participated to determine the best product in 14 different categories this year. The participants were asked to rate only those products that their organizations were using on a scale of one to five, taking into account criteria specific to the category chosen. As per the press release, Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security Suite scored for being easy to use and having end-user transparency. Additionally, it was also mentioned that, according to SearchSecurity.com, the users were impressed with the product’s efficiency to detect and block spam, viruses, spyware, malware, and phishing in the messaging traffic. The security suite contains a filter that blocks any unwarranted element, such as a virus, or spam before it enters the network. “Trend Micro InterScan Messaging Security includes a SaaS pre-filter that blocks unwanted spam before it reaches the network while still maintaining privacy with onsite quarantines and outbound filtering”, the press release said.
