Lookout Mobile Security, the leader in mobile security, and Sprint Nextel have teamed up to provide enhanced mobile security to its Android users. Lookout has also recently introduced safe-browsing feature to its Android mobile application. This feature will scan every website in real time and will alert the user in case malware or any other threat is detected. This app will block virus, malware, and spyware, and can also trace the exact location of a lost or stolen phone on a map. It also provides the capability to remotely lock and wipe a device, and to backup and restore photos, contacts, and call history from secure cloud-based storage. Lookout offers both premium and free or trial version of the application to its customers. John Hering, CEO of Lookout Mobile Security, said
“By extending protection with safe browsing, mobile consumers can feel safe surfing the web, accessing e-mail and entering other personal information on their mobile device.”
Sprint users can access this app either from the Sprint Zone app or through the Sprint tab in the Android market. With this launch Lookout and Sprint are aiming to deliver safe browsing and privacy protection features to their Android users.
Fared Adib, senior vice president-Product, Sprint, said “Lookout not only delivers a stellar user experience, but will give Sprint customers confidence to do more with their wireless device by protecting it.”
The Lookout Mobile Threat Network is providing protection to more than nine million users every day. It protects them from downloading or accessing corrupt applications and also from phishing attempts and malware attacks, thereby protecting both phones and user’s privacy.
