With an ever-increasing use of mobile phones to access Internet, malware-makers and hackers are now carrying out sophisticated mobile-centric cyber attacks. To counter such intentions, many leading security companies have released mobile versions of their security solutions. The security companies have also made these mobile versions available on market places like the Android Market and the Apple App Store to make them accessible to more and more users worldwide.

Very recently, in fact on August 14, McAfee Inc., one of the world’s leading security companies, has released the iPhone version of McAfee WaveSecure. You can download this app from the Apple App Store by paying a premium of $19.99. McAfee WaveSecure is already available on a number of other platforms.
Lianne Caetano, director of Product Marketing for McAfee Consumer Mobile Solutions, in an interview stated that “We’ve been in mobile security for about 10 years, but we’re in a period of rapid changes now. Now we have a very heterogeneous environment, and we have to make sure we work seamlessly.”
With McAfee WaveSecure installed on your iPhone, you can remotely track your mobile phones in case they are lost or stolen. In case you are unable to retrieve your lost or stolen phone, you can backup all your vital data and restore it even on an Android-based phone. Moreover, even if your data gets deleted by mistake, you can retrieve it back. You can do all this from the online portal of McAfee WaveSecure. You can even lock your iPhone with an alarm remotely.
Apart from English, the app is available in various languages including Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish to name a few.
Over the course of last 10 years, McAfee has released various mobile security apps, including Virus Scan Mobile, McAfee Mobile Security, McAfee Family Protection and McAfee SiteAdvisor. McAfee also plans to add more apps to its suite of products in the near future.
