The other section of the survey also included teenagers, who were also clueless. 24% of teenagers reported that they had visited adult website, which may have contained malware and other security related issues. They also admitted the fact they visited these adult sites by giving false age verification.
The survey findings are essential as they provide an in-depth analysis as to how is Internet security affecting the lives of Americans. The survey lays emphasis on this factor by stating that, “Given the potential ramifications of improper Internet use today, it would seem to merit at least the same degree of educational vigilance as other lifestyle risk categories like sex, drugs and alcohol”
In terms of the statistical figure the survey states that 76% parents and 77% teenagers felt that they were very confident about their Internet security.
Other findings were also conducted on the basis of social networking, which tested the survey candidates if they have enough information about Facebook privacy settings and important points with regards to working on social networks.
