Anonymous, the controversial group of hackers associated with international hacktivism strikes again, but this time to add insult to the injury. After the recent hacking of the intelligence agency Stratfor, the group is all set to publish the stolen e-mails from its clients.

Anonymous to Disclose Hacked E-mails from Stratfor

Anonymous hacked Stratfor website and publicly disclosed some of the confidential data of its corporate subscribers. In addition to this, the group has also revealed about the thousands of members associated with the agency, including corporate and government customers with their e-mails addresses, passwords, and its subscribers’ credit card numbers. The top shot members include Exxon Mobil Corporation, Goldman Sachs & Co, Bank of America, Thompson Reuters, and not to mention, the U.S. military and the United States.

The next move by Anonymous to publish the stolen mails from the agency’s clients can create further chaos as some of them belong to the U.S. military, Wall Street, and other important corporations. The group has planned to release more than 9,000 “mirrored” copies of those stolen mails. Such a large number of copies will lead to a faster distribution and consequently make the task more difficult for Stratfor to shut down those servers.

The objective of the group is to create “mayhem” with the release of the stolen e-mails and to reveal the agency’s true color. “Stratfor is not the ‘harmless company’ it tries to paint itself as. You’ll see in those emails,” said Anonymous on Twitter.

The clock is ticking for Stratfor to act quickly before Anonymous quenches its thirst for anarchy by releasing those confidential e-mails.
