Anonymous is a familiar name to all of us. The popular hacktivist group is always in the news for some or the other kind of hacking havoc they wreak. Their malicious minds not only work to crack codes of banks and social networks but of late, they have started a different trend of hacking.
This time around, Anonymous is making good on the promise they made. It was regarding tech retaliation against the Oakland Police Department for some earlier issues. They have made their statement true and have finally targeted them big time along with other law enforcement agencies, which had allegedly participated in the crackdown against Occupy Oakland protesters.
“Scott Olsen, who did two tours in Iraq, is in critical condition [subsequently upgraded to fair] with a fractured skull and brain injury after a cop shot him in the head with a ‘non-lethal’ weapon. A crowd of protesters were also deliberately hit with a flash bang while rendering first aid to an injured protester,” Anonymous wrote in a communiqué.

They also added further: “These are among the most disturbing and criminal acts to be have been proven on the part of U.S. police since NYPD officers were ousted as having routinely planted drugs on suspects earlier this month. The time has come to retaliate against Oakland police via all non-violent means, beginning with doxing of individual officers and particularly higher-ups involved in the department’s conduct of late.”
Witnessing such violence, Anonymous has apparently led to the downing of the official site of Oakland Police, making out on their part of vengeance and fulfilling their motives. “Contact information, schedules, badge numbers, and other information about Oakland Police Department officers was posted to a public Pastebin page,” writes Elinor Mills of CNET News.
Let’s see what measures the Oakland Police department will take to get over the hack and prevent any more hacks from taking place.
