Internet Auction Fraud: Fake Designer Sunglasses

Buying fake designer sunglasses was one of the worst experiences I ever had when shopping online. I still remember the day I viewed the online auction listing for my dream pair of sunglasses. They had white rims and were the coolest sunglasses I had ever seen. In addition, the sunglasses were a creation from my favorite designer.

I remember working so hard to buy those sunglasses. I outbid so many people so that I could get the sunglasses, since they were a limited edition. What happened next are a great tragedy and a true example of internet auction fraud. The sunglasses I was sent were nothing like the ones I had bid on and they was also a fake edition from the designer. I have never purchased a fake product online, until this experience. It was so disheartening to be involved with this internet auction fraud case. Now, whenever my friends talk about buying things from internet auction sites, I always tell them this story as a way to caution them about the dangers of internet auction fraud.

Internet auction fraud is quite common, and people need to know that there are many different kinds of ways that it happens. All too often, people assume they will never be part of internet auction fraud. When they finally are part of this type of fraud, it is a horrible experience. I never want others to experience the sorts of horrible things that I have experienced while shopping for things at online auctions.

Internet Auction Fraud: Fake Vintage Items

I think one of the worst things that can happen to a person, is when he or she buys fake vintage items at an online auction. As a person that runs a thrift store, I love to scour online auctions for great deals on designer items. However, there have been quite a few times when I have run into internet auction fraud. I have experienced forms of internet auction fraud in purchasing designer vintage clothing items that have ultimately not been designer items.

One time, I remember buying a lot of shirts that were purported to be designer clothing. I was so excited to add this new collection to my thrift store. When I received the box of shirts, however, I noticed that they were actually fake designer shirts. It was so frustrating that someone had actually tried to pawn off a product as “vintage,” in addition to selling me fake items.

Because I am quite an aggressive person, I actually decided to sue the person for this fraud. It cost me hundreds of dollars in legal fees to hold this person accountable, but I was ultimately successful. I simply needed to feel that my rights were vindicated by taking this person to court. I was truly able to recover a good deal of money by taking this person to court. In the future, I will never buy a lot of shirts at an online auction again; because this was such a horrible experience that I never want to endure.

I found this website that sold items at far lesser price than their market value. Have been wanting an mp3 player for quite some time and I found a great one that I had to win through an auction. I won the auction and was asked to pay the price within one hour to get item delivered at my home. I paid using my credit card and that’s it! No proof or no mp3 player. I even waited a couple of days for the player to be delivered but nothing!. Guess it was one of those online auction frauds!

There were these photos, I had, stored under C:/My Documents/For Mom/Family Reunion Photos. Naughty prints, meant for my eyes only! I was content to let it slumber in that folder. There was no danger of anyone looking there. But then, I got a rude jolt…in the form of a virus which disabled my system. No matter what I did, the system just would not turn on. I carried the whole thing to a repair centre and paid a small fortune to get it working again. I saw by the repairman’s smirk that he too was now privy to my secret!

With increase in online shopping, auction fraud has become a major headache. Thousands of people have fallen victims to this while buying or bidding things online. I too became a victim of the same. Being a victim of online auction fraud, I wanted to inform you that there are a number of ways to prevent yourself becoming a victim of such frauds.

Ya Ralph, the only reason these online vendors advertise goods cheaply is to get new victims. I mean, how could they get a branded MP3 player for far less than the actual retail price unless it’s broken! I would recommend all users to stay away from online auction sites and also online stores.
