Step 1

Right-click on the ‘BitDefender®’ icon situated on the system tray.

From the pop-up menu click the ‘Basic Settings.’

Step 3

Select ‘Antivirus’ and click ‘Disable’ check box for disabling the antivirus application. Click ‘OK’ and save the changes.

Step 4

If you do not want to launch BitDefender Antivirus at Windows® startup,’ then click the Windows® ‘Start’ menu and click ‘Start Search’ or ‘Run.’ Type ‘msconfig’ and click ‘OK’ to launch ‘System Configuration Utility.’

Step 5

Click the ‘Startup’ tab to uncheck ‘BitDefender®’ check box and click ‘OK’ to save changes. For automatically re-launching BitDefender® at startup, go to the ‘System Configuration Utility’ and check on the application.

You have successfully stopped BitDefender Antivirus from performing scans at Windows startup.
